Proudly Raising the Standard: Tutors Alliance Scotland

What is Tutors Alliance Scotland?

When you invite a tutor into your child’s educational journey, you deserve complete peace of mind. However, many parents are surprised to learn that the tutoring industry in Scotland is currently unregulated. Legally, anyone can call themselves a tutor, regardless of their teaching qualifications or safeguarding knowledge.

We didn't think that was good enough.

That is why I proudly co-created and currently serve as the President of Tutors Alliance Scotland (TAS), a not-for-profit professional membership organisation dedicated to supporting tutors, parents and pupils and raising the bar for educational support across Scotland.

Why We Set Up TAS

I founded TAS alongside a team of dedicated educators because we passionately believe that every child deserves a safe, expertly guided learning environment. Our mission is to ensure that tutoring in Scotland is rooted in transparency, rigorous safeguarding and professional excellence.

When you see the TAS name, it means an unwavering commitment to working exclusively with fully qualified, rigorously vetted teachers and tutors. We champion professionals who hold up-to-date PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) checks and possess the specific educational expertise needed to truly help children thrive.

What This Means for You

For the parents who work with us at My Primary and Secondary Tutor, my leadership role within TAS is our promise to you. It means that the highest standards of safety, quality and educational integrity are not just an afterthought, they are the very foundation of everything we do.

Support the Movement

We are on a mission to make Scottish education safer and more supportive for every family and we would love your help to spread the word.
