About My Primary & Secondary Tutor – Building Confidence Together
Welcome to My Primary and Secondary Tutor, where we are on a mission to support primary and secondary pupils in Building Confidence Together in their learning. I'm Karen Simpson, and I'm here to share my journey with you. In 2004, I embarked on my teaching career after earning my honours degree from the University of Edinburgh. Over the years, I had the privilege of teaching in various schools in the Highlands, gaining valuable experience and insights.
Meet Karen Simpson - Director and Lead Tutor
In 2012, I took a career break after serving as an acting Deputy Head Teacher. It was during this time, while starting a family, that I discovered the transformative power of tutoring. I began working with local children, offering one-to-one and small group sessions from the summer house in my garden. The results were astounding. I witnessed children's confidence soar as they made crucial connections in their learning.
Through word of mouth, I quickly became busy and this is when My Primary & Secondary Tutor was born. Since 2017, it has grown each year, earning accolades along the way. Our journey is a testament to our commitment to providing quality education that fosters confidence in young learners.

Our online primary tutors are well-versed in supporting pupils following both the English National Curriculum and the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence. Our online secondary tutors can support your child whether they are working towards their Scottish National or Higher qualifications or English GCSEs or A-levels.
